Susan what do you recommend I am seeking your advise.
I have only one debt, a $20,000. credit card debt. I have 2 homes one in Miami, Fl which I live in and the other in P.R.. I tried getting an equity line of credit but was told my credit score was too low (5.40) to qualified due to late payments on this credit card plus I over extended my credit limit. It was recommended that I refinance, however I was told I could not refinance the home in P.R. because I am in the US. So, I am being offered an opportunity to refinance my home in Florida at a interest rate of 8.8, for 40yrs. I am considering doing this for about 1-1/2 year to allow for improvement of my credit score then refinance at a lower rate if possible. Appreciate your advise.

    Love the show. You rock!

I don't know what to do. My house appraised for $93,000 I owe 47,000. I bring home $2400 month. No credit card debt. $110,000 school loan and I need to relocate. I am renting my home. I have 254 car loan, 110 cell bill, 85 car insurance and I just adopted my 5 yr old grandson that might need private school in big city. How can I make ends meet. I am very cheap and do not spend a lot of money but still hard time making it. No savings. thanks

My husband is glued to the TV when you are on and of course, I love you too and how much you really seems to care about people and their welfare. Question: We are thinking of purchasing a new house in a new state. My husband want to know if you think buying cash would be a financial way to go. He is retired and I will be the only one working. No enough space. Is there an email address to go into more details that you would need to best advise us on.

Hi Susy, love your show. Please advise, we are building and financing our new home with our savings. Should we refinance our other houses to build. We have one that we rent out that is paid off, the one we live in we owe about $30,000.00 with a 5.25% interest. We will stop constuction if you run low on money until next year when we get dividens from husband construction business, in which both of us are employed.

I loved what you said about women not worrying about herfinances.Indeed if I was told by someone like you long time ago,it would have saved me a lot of heartaches and made me a very rich woman. Instead I trusted my husband and other men to care for my wealth and everyone was enriched by my wealth except myself.
Thanks for bringing me into my senses.

My financialadvisor, wants me to change my ROTH IRA $12,000 to a regular account so he can invested more aggresively. I am turning 50 this year , I don't own a house. Also he wants me to take my 401 K, $13,000 and change it to a regular acct so he can invested. He tells me in 16 years he can bring it up to 1 million each,so I can be safe when I retire.I trust him, he does good investing for a lot of our friends. I am just afraid to disolve my 2 accts, but also I want more, agressive investing, because I don't have to much time, until 65. Can you please advise? Also he tells me it's not good to buy now, considering I am still paying my credit cards, $6000 left to pay, and I don't have a downpayment.I make $85,000/year. Thank you.

Hi Suzie - enjoyed your book, Women & Money. I'm 50 yo with limited assets. Several years back, lost half my IRA with use of broker. What little is left is sitting in the credit unit making 1% interest because I'm afraid to lose any more. Is there a way to be FDIC protected but also make a higher interest rate and at the same time be protected in a period of hyperinflation?

    I have a question.

1- If you hit the lottery or your business makes you over 1 million dollars please advise where can you have your monies transfer without larger fees.

Is it wise to purchase a house in full ?

I am asking these question because I have faith that one day these things will become an issue for me.

It would be great if you did a show on this topic.

What should the average person who was not born into money do if they became a millionaire over night ?

Unfortunately a family member is having to go into foreclosure and bankruptcy because of this. It's really sad and we have exhausted our savings trying to help. I know Bush is passing bills to help some but for others he waited too late. Any advise before things are finalized with the courts?

We are nearing the 60 year mark and my husband has always lived by one money rule. There's plenty more where that came from and that's what life insurance is for.
I have the polar opposite approach to money.
I would like to know if I have a CD for $63000 that is maxed out for college expenses if I should relinquish the monies or pay back the loan. The rate of interest is 4.4% the loan amount is 5.5% so it is costing me 1%
    Thanks!

I thing gift givers should have the option. a gift into a bank account as indicated on the show. The option to send a card with money in it. ideal for someone who wants the newly wed to know the amount given.

dear suzie, after my divorce I have accumulated alot of debt. I have not paid several of these debts for seven years. I seen on my recent credit report that bad credit is removed from your credit report in seven years. I need to know after it is removed will my credit score remain the same or will it increase even though I didn't pay the debt.

Home renovations? With home sales down, Interests rates at whatever? builders probably looking for work and will bid lower. Recession talk bla bla bla. instead of buying a new home would renovating my home be the best cost effect move at this time?

Suzy, I have credit card debt of $15,427.00. I am buying a house and now owe $129,000.00 It is fixed at 5.75.Each month I pay $550 to principle only. I retained services of Brauer Law Offices to negotiate my credit card debt. I checked with the bar in Arizona, and the Better Business Bureau to see if their credentials were legitimate. They were, and now I am paying them off monthly, and they got the debt cut in less than half and are charging me a total of $2,160.00, my debt settlement is $6171.00. I have two handicapped kids, am a single mom, have no family but my kids. I got in this mess living off credit cards while job hunting when my former job was laying people off. Do you think I did the right thing? I look forward to your response. And thank you I love your show, it keeps me on my budget.

My Husband and I have been with the same financial advisor for many years. Now we wants to charge $500.00 yearly for an Asset Allocation. We feel this is alot since we have not gained in the last year. We know many advisors do not charge for this service. Should we look around for someone else?

I was wondering if debt consolation is good or bad idea? And if so? Do you know of any good companies? We are in credit card debt of 14,000.00. We can barley keep are head above water with all the other bills that are coming in. My husband was unemployeed for 4 months and we had to live off credit cards to get by. We were paying rent and a morgage payment for a year until we sold our home to save our credit. Please help and lead us in the right direction. JParks

    Dear Suzy:

I truly need some advice regarding my house having a failed septic system. Below is my letter to the Senator.

I am asking for assistance once again regarding my Failing Septic System at my residential home at 4314 Cadillac Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. I also need an immediate answer to exactly when will Cadillac drive residents obtain sewer installation due to the January 2006 Annexation that was put into place.

I have made several attempts over the past 3 years to obtain immediate attention to my personal residential property at the aforementioned address. For the past 14 years, the county has discussed installing a sewer in order for Cadillac residents to hookup to a sewer. For the past 3 years, I have had to limit my water usage due to a failing septic system.

My letter is too long. I will send the rest in an e-mail

My husband and I have a 2nd and 3rd mortgage on our home. This happened due to some dental surgeries I had to have, and car repairs etc. We took a big loss in pay , just for my husband to keep his job,we are in our 50's and can see no way out..We are considering bankruptcy. Any advice would be appreciated. We owe 100,00 on our home and the property value is 56,000. Thank you, Deborah Orr-Meyer deeorr54@yahoo.com

Dear Suzy,I am 48 years old.I make about $1050 a month with no part-time job.My ungodly hours make it very difficult to work a part-time job without getting enough sleep.I am also paying down my $2000 credit debt along with my cell bill of $50.00 monthly and I pay $113.00 for car insurance. I rent a bedroom for $550 a month. My question is I want to invest $250 with my bank, TD BANK into a CD account at a fixed rate of 3.00%.$250 is minimum amount required and all I have for my retirement at this point is my measly pension from my previous job locked in until I turn 62.So as you can see,I dont have much money to invest with.I also have little company stock. So might this CD investment be a good idea? Suzy,Ive been watching your show for years and I certainly trust you and no one else. Im on disability and receiving $566 twice a month, which is about the same amount as my working salary except my disability is not taxed.I look foward to your response soon at (386)473-4044. Sincerely,Ernie
