Now that mortgage rates have been on the increase for the past two years, I would assume not only has the home refi boom stopped, but that there will not be another home refi boom for quite some time - at least until we cycle through a period of high rates again.

I also assume the previous comment is true but what about the "new" 50 year mortgages. Can you imagine paying off your home in 50 years? I understand it is fixed rate for 5 years and then is adjustable. I guess you hope for rates to go down in those 5 years so you can refi??

Iam a single woman recently out of a relationship that left me filing bankrupcy. How long after court filing of debts can I expect these certain creditors (like utilities) to dissolve past amounts. I still need utilities.
